A man appeared to be engaged in a physical altercation with National Guard members on Beale Street in downtown Memphis in a video that is making the rounds on social media.
Two charges of aggravated assault against law enforcement have been brought against DeAngelo Smith.
Authorities say they witnessed Smith “aggressively chest bump” a female guardsmen after breaking up a fight.
Smith was subsequently confronted by a male guard, and according to the authorities, Smith also gave him a chest bump.
He was arrested and transported to 201 Poplar.
Smith showed up in court on Tuesday morning and is being held on a $25,000 bond.
