Tennessee Valley Authority has agreed to supply an additional 150 MW of electricity to xAI Southwest Memphis data center. Colosus super computer is operating under the corporate name CTC Property and requested more mega watts. Electricity used on the property is provided by MLGW, but the additional mega watts must be approved by TVA, who is the regional provider to MLGW.
MLGW said that the additional MW usage added to the areas power grid would double the usage to the grid and require additional mega watts provided by TVA. The xAI supercomputer facility in Southwest Memphis is meeting or exceding conditions estabslished by MLGW by building out storage solutions and using recycled water to cool the facility.
