In only four days, two inmates were found dead at the Shelby County Jail.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy requested that the TBI look into the circumstances that led to Antonio First’s death at the age of 40.
On Saturday, November 1, authorities found First unconscious in his cell, and twenty-five minutes later, the Memphis Fire Department pronounced him dead.
This comes after the death at the jail of 24-year-old Dalton Goddard. He passed away on October 29, at the Shelby County Jail.
The TBI is also looking into the circumstances surrounding his death. The Memphis Fire Department also declared him dead after finding him unconscious in his cell.
