On Tuesday morning, Chief of the Memphis Police Department CJ Davis, stated that the Memphis Safe Task Force probably consists of over 700 federal law enforcement officers in the city, with some representatives claiming over 800.
By this Friday, the first deployments of the Tennessee National Guard are anticipated to also arrive. She also noted some commanders are already in town organizing that deployment.
Davis said, “We are not looking for a one-time fix. The city has needed federal support at a larger level for a long long time. And once this is done, crime won’t be eradicated.”
At @POTUS direction, we are making America safe again:
In Washington, DC our law enforcement partners have made 3,837 arrests to date and seized 361 illegal guns.
In Memphis, 273 arrests have been made in just under a week and 73 illegal guns seized.
