Traffic was stopped Tuesday morning when a truck driver veered off course in the eastbound lanes of the Memphis-Arkansas Bridge.
Before being taken into custody by Arkansas State Police, the Raj Transportation truck driver was shown on driver-captured video attempting to continue over the Interstate 55 bridge while being confronted by oncoming traffic.
An Arkansas State Trooper in the westbound lanes attempted to enter the truck’s passenger side and knocked on the window, according to an eyewitness, but the driver was unable or unwilling to roll down the passenger side window.
Two other troops arrived, one carrying a rifle and ejected the driver, ultimately putting him in handcuffs.
No further information has been released by Arkansas State Police.
