The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported that five people were shot outside a Cordova home on Saturday night, and that one of them, an 18-year-old, died.
The victim was determined by SCSO detectives to be Corey Adams, an 18-year-old from New Orleans, Louisiana who played football for the University of Mississippi.
A suspect in the shooting is still being investigated by deputies as five people were also hurt in the shooting. The injured victims were listed in non-critical condition and arrived at local hospitals in their personal vehicles.
SCSO detectives are investigating the homicide and urge anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers.
