LOCAL | Weekend Gunfire At North Memphis Vigil Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

A shooting in North Memphis near the Medical District over the weekend left five people injured, according to Memphis Police, and one person dead.

At around 8 p.m. on Saturday night, police arrived on the scene at the intersection of Mosby Avenue and North Dunlap.

Five people were hurt in the shooting, while the other three victims were in non-critical condition. Two were sent to the hospital in critical condition.

It was eventually confirmed on Sunday afternoon that one of the people passed away from their wounds.

Police said the incident happened at a celebration for the life of a departed loved one.

The suspect, or suspects, were spotted in a gray vehicle, according to the police, but they have not yet been located. Police are asking the public for any information that would lead to the suspect’s arrest.
