Yesterday, 18 year old Islam Mosleh plead not guilty to federal charges submitted against him regarding the possession of the illegal substance kratom with the intent to distribute.
His father, 51 year old Yahya Mosleh, has yet to submit a plea.
Both men were charged back in September in possible connection to the deaths of two University of Mississippi students, Robert Strang (20) and Aiden Hamilton (18), as police say that kratom from a retail store was found nearby at the scene.
The sale and distribution of kratom has been banned in Oxford since 2019, and officials state that they are uncertain at this time where said kratom was purchased, or if the students’ deaths were caused by kratom.
