The Tennessee Department of Correction reported earlier this morning that a statewide manhunt is underway after a convicted murderer escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, TN.
TDOC is working with multiple law enforcement agencies to apprehend one Jacob Morley, who was charged in 2022 for a first-degree murder case from Carter County, TN.
Morley was serving out a 67 year prison sentence prior to escaping, and was also convicted for tampering with evidence, aggravated burglary, evading arrest, and vandalism.
Anybody with knowledge of Morley’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
