The Bluff City welcomed some high-profile guests today for a roundtable to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Memphis Safe Task Force’s arrival in the area.
Notable attendees included U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche, Senator Marsha Blackburn, and State Senator Brent Taylor, as well as Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis and Director of the U.S. Marshals Service Gadyaces S. Serralta.
At this time, MSTF has made approximately 13,569 arrests, and Chief Davis reported in June a 44% decline in murder rates during the first six months of this year compared to last year.
Blanche reiterated during today’s meeting that the influx of federal law enforcement presence in the Bluff City will continue, in his words, “for as long as it takes.”
