Charges of sex crimes against minors have been filed against the former police chief of Halls, Tennessee, who has already been charged with embezzlement.
37-year-old Justin Tate is currently at the Lauderdale County Jail on 12 counts of aggravated sexual battery, among multiple other related charges, that all happened during his time with the police department.
His tenure the Halls police chief spanned from 2020 to 2024.
Between 2014 and 2017, reports indicated that Tate engaged in sexual abuse and rape of a child under 13. He was also accused of photographing a naked minor sometime between 2020 and 2023.
He is being held on a $275,000 bond and is set to make his court appearance on October 20.
