The Millington Police Department has filled their role of a new police chief, and it’s a familiar face.
Frankie Dakin, Millington’s City Manager, announced on Monday night that former Memphis Police deputy chief Joe Oakley will be stepping in as the new chief after a unanimous vote by both the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
This comes after his retirement with the MPD in October 2025, after serving for 36 years.
Over his 36 years, he served as a sergeant, lieutenant, major, colonel, and the deputy chief.
