An investigation is now underway after a fatal shooting at the federal courthouse in downtown Nashville on Thursday morning.
Reports from the Metro police indicate that a man walked up to security and pulled out a handgun. Despite pulling the trigger, the gun did not go off.
That’s when he pulled out a knife which led to the guard firing his own gunshots at the suspect. The suspect was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has stepped in to help with the investigation, this story is being updated.
