A hearing in Nashville is being held on Wednesday on the evidence surrounding the botched execution attempt of Christa Pike last week.
Almost a week later, on October 6, Pike was confirmed to be awake and speaking despite two lethal doses of pentobarbital.
Her botched execution was the second failed attempt in Tennessee in 2026, which resulted in the TN Department of Corrections Commissioner Frank Strada to step down from his position.
This update was shared by her attorneys, who just a few days ago confirmed she was in a ventilator and unconscious.
Her attorney’s noted that because of the damage inflicted from the drugs, and the damage to her limbs from being shackled, her recovery is expected to be long.
