Memphis Mayor Paul Young has stated in his most recent newsletter that the Bluff City could see its beloved trolley system return to the rails by the end of this year.
Although MATA indefinitely suspended the trolley service Downtown due to costly brake system repairs, Mayor Young says the city has made December 15th a target date to get four trolleys rolling down Main St once more.
Mayor Young is hoping this move will not only make Memphis more attractive to future investors but will also bring more reliable transportation back to the Downtown area for locals and tourists.
