Jackson City Hall was threatened with mass violence by an unlikely suspect, an attorney for Austin Drummond.
Austin Drummond is facing a quadruple murder charge among various other charges, and now, 46-year-old Andrew Farmer is facing Threats of Mass Violence charges after police arrested him for alarming text messages he sent.
According to reports, Farmer sent a message on Tuesday morning that read, “I am going to shoot up city hall.” That led to an immediate deployment JPD officers and SWAT teams establishing a perimeter around the building and apprehending Farmer.
“Reflecting on yesterday’s events, I want to reiterate my deepest gratitude to the men and women of the Jackson Police Department who acted with incredible speed, bravery, and professionalism. Their swift response ensured that our employees and visitors at City Hall were protected and that the situation was resolved safely,” said Mayor Scott Conger.
Farmer is set to be arraigned in Jackson, TN City Court on Thursday morning after his stay at CJC in Madison County.
