Millington has made one small step towards investing in the wellbeing of its city’s youth, as they officially opened a space for Alliance Healthcare to provide free mental health support for young people and their families.
This new location can be found between Millington Middle School and Millington High School and is open to all students, parents, and school staff in the area.
“We just want to make sure folks are aware of all the resources that are there for you and there is nothing wrong with reaching out and saying you need some help,” said Millington City Manager Frankie Dakin. “All of us will have that experience one day. All of us will have a member of our family, a loved one that is going to need resources like this.”
Additionally, anyone in the MidSouth who is experiencing emotional distress or a mental health crisis can call or text 988 for free, confidential support to help them and their loved ones through such challenging times.
