The new Memphis Art Museum will feature new art pieces that were commissioned, according to an announcement made on Tuesday.
December 6 is the scheduled date for the opening of the new museum in downtown Memphis.
The new pieces will be displayed on the street front of the museum, the rooftop, and other spaces.
Among the commissioned works is Jordan Ann Craig’s Sharp Tongue; The Sky and the Heart Aflame.
In June 2023, ground was broken for the $180M facility spanning 122,000 square feet at Front Street and Union Avenue. Admission will be free for Shelby County residents.
