Charges of child abuse and assault were filed against an East Memphis man for making a “citizen’s arrest” on a minor whom he accused of fishing on his property last weekend.
71-year-old Stanley Trezevant’s bond has not been set yet, his next court date is scheduled for Friday.
It all happened on September 12, when the mother of the minor victim reported that her son was fishing with a friend when Trezevant told them to leave the area. After they complied, Trezevant still followed them and ended up throwing them on the ground, while restraining them.
During the boy’s hospital visit, multiple bruises were spotted on his arms and legs.
The minors eventually identified him in a photo lineup which led to his arrest and charges.
