A bobcat was recently caught on camera in Southaven, near Dickens Place off Church Rd between Swinnea and Getwell.
Local resident Debra Schumacher Dandan, whose son-in-law Dawson Pitts captured the above photo, stated that a few geese and cats have gone missing in the area, and so she is telling neighbors to keep their pets safe until a wildlife trapper is called out.
Native to Mississippi, bobcats can weigh nearly 40lbs and are often shy and non-aggressive towards humans.
This is the first notable sighting since 2021, when a bobcat was spotted in a Hernando neighborhood.
