The mayor of Oakland, TN, in Fayette County, was taken into custody on Tuesday after he, his son, and a number of other people were charged with conspiring to remove a rival’s campaign signs from yards.
On August 6, Chelsea Kivelle reported to the police that many “No Wiggins” signs had been taken from West Junior High.
The act was captured on camera, according to an officer, and it shows three women slashing many “No Wiggins” signs and loading them into a Honda Civic.
A person inside the Honda informed a police officer that Adrian Wiggins had paid her to tint the windows illegally when the car was subsequently pulled up.
Since 2024, Wiggins has been Oakland’s mayor.
