Following days of power outages brought on by Saturday’s storm, all Memphis-Shelby County schools were open on Thursday.
MSCS declared that all schools now have power and were prepared to welcome back all students.
Due to significant power outages, all MSCS schools were closed on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, most schools reopened, while several remained closed.
140,000 consumers were without power on Saturday night during the storm’s peak. That figure had dropped to roughly 35,000 by Monday afternoon.
