After reportedly shooting and killing a Memphis student on the Lane College campus over the weekend, a 19-year-old was charged with reckless homicide, according to police.
According to the Jackson Police Department, Zavon Luckett was charged with reckless homicide after investigators said he handled a firearm in a “reckless manner,” killing a 19-year-old Memphis student.
The incident occurred inside a dorm room at the college’s Williamson Hall on Saturday at around 11 p.m., according to earlier police reports. JPD alleged Luckett accidently killed Devin Parker Jr.
Luckett was arraigned on Monday morning and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for another day.
