Providence forward Duncan Powell was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct Sunday in Cranston, R.I., authorities said.
The 23-year-old senior’s ex-girlfriend told police that Powell hit her and made threats against her and her friends, according to a WJAR report.
Powell was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday morning.
A school spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment, according to the Providence Journal.
Powell played in 22 games (five starts) for the Friars in 2025-26, averaging 4.6 points, 3.0 rebounds and 16.7 minutes per game.
In February, the Big East Conference suspended Powell for three games after his hard foul against St. John’s forward Bryce Hopkins sparked a skirmish and six player ejections.
A Dallas native, the 6-foot-8 Powell began his collegiate journey at North Carolina A&T (2021-23) before playing at Sacramento State (2023-24) and Georgia Tech (2024-25).
