On Tuesday afternoon, a 17-year-old girl was hurt in a shooting at Tom Lee Park.
Around 3:20 p.m., police arrived at Riverside Drive. One female was reportedly in non-critical condition following the shooting.
MPD said no charges have been brought against the two individuals who were taken into custody.
The shooting comes just days after the mayor called on parents to be accountable and to be active in knowing where their children are and what they’re doing.
Seniors from multiple high schools were hanging out at the park for “Senior Skip Day,” according to witnesses.
According to Mayor Young, a city curfew that could reduce youth violence is being considered by his office, despite the attack taking place in broad daylight.
