The position that former commissioner Edmund Ford Jr. left vacant last month will be filled by a vote of Shelby County commissioners.
Following his guilty plea to tax evasion, Edmund Ford Jr. resigned from office at the beginning of February.
His former colleagues will appoint an interim successor from among ten candidates at the end of Monday’s meeting, which starts at 3 p.m.
Whoever the commission taps to fill the seat will do so until the general election in August.
