A manhunt for a shooting suspect remains active on Friday, and Memphis Police have identified the officer shot during a traffic stop in Parkway Village on Thursday night.
Around 8 p.m., Officer Oscar Torres-Molina was doing a traffic check on a car at Aloha Avenue and South Perkins when the driver allegedly shot him.
At the moment, his status is stable but critical.
Danell Jarvis Maxwell, 40, has been placed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Most Wanted List for possessing a firearm while committing a hazardous felony and attempting first-degree murder of a Memphis police officer.
Up to $2,500 is being offered as a reward for information that results in his arrest. Maxwell was last seen wearing all black clothing with a reflective vest.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
