Founded in 1962 in Memphis, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was ranked No. 2 on this year’s Forbes Best Large Employers in America list.
According to Forbes, the institution, which has 5,000 employees, came in just below Trader Joes and ahead of Google and Microsoft.
St. Jude is in the midst of the largest expansion in the institution’s history.
After 12 years as St. Jude’s CEO, James Downing recently revealed last week that he will be leaving the company later this year.
In 2024, St. Jude came in at number nine on Forbes’ list. Over 217,000 employees’ survey responses serve as the main basis for the yearly rankings.
