Memphis-Shelby County Schools reported that two marching bands from the district took first place in two Battle of the Bands competitions held during Mardi Gras in New Orleans.
Whitehaven High School “Sounds of Perfection” Band won first place in the Krewe of Rex Mardi Gras Battle of the Bands competition.
Raleigh-Egypt High School also took home first place.
According to the school district, bands from Mitchell High School and White Station High School also performed at the New Orleans Mardi Gras celebrations.
