According to officials, the Memphis Area Transit Authority is extending free rides for forty-five more days.
The extension is a component of MATA’s 90-day “Zero Fare Pilot Program,” which began last November.
According to MATA, all rides will be free until March 31, 2026.
MATA’s reports indicate that since the start of the program, ridership has grown by almost 25%, contributing to the return of nearly $1 million to Memphis passenger pockets.
