The only IKEA location in Tennessee is closing May 3rd. The home furnishings store at I-40 and Germantown Parkway has been open for ten years and has recently made changes to it’s operations in attepmt to improve the bottom line. Closing the cafeteria and modifying the shopping experience wasn’t enough and was too little to late. The company statement – “The decision to close the Memphis store was made following a comprehensive review, and considering several factors, including market share, business performance, cost structure, and overall optimization of physical assets” .
Now a 271,000 square foot wharehouse will be available. Someone call Elon and let him know there’s space for GROK 3 at Germantown Parkway and I40.
