A state of emergency was declared for Arkansas on Thursday by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders in anticipation of possible severe winter weather this weekend in the Mid-South.
“Severe winter weather is expected to strike Arkansas and cause dangers, hardships, and suffering throughout the state, which in turn, warrants this executive action,” Sanders said in a statement.
Also in her statement, program and administrative expenses will be covered by $250,000 authorized by her state from the governor’s Disaster Response Recovery and Recovery Fund.
