During this weekend’s anti-ICE protests on Summer Avenue, a Cordova woman was taken into custody after a police officer said she had physically and verbally assaulted them and resisted arrest.
55-year-old Rebecca Leathers is charged of vandalism, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, indecent exposure, disorderly behavior, and obstructing a highway.
A state trooper’s statement claims that while demonstrators surrounded the car, Leathers screamed at the officer, beat on his windshield and window, and tried to get inside the passenger-side door.
Jail records show Leathers booked on Monday morning, with no bond set and a court date Tuesday.
