The embattled liquor store, The Station located at 870 S White Station Rd between Poplar Ave & Park Ave. has been approved by the Memphis Alcohol Commision. The Station owner Ethan Edwards has been attempting to sell alcohol since been giving the intial approval more than a year ago. The owners of Busters opposed the approval when it was first given and signed off on by Mayor Young. Busters owners claimed that the 1500 feet rule was not met and The Station should not be allowed to open. A 5-1 vote on Wednesday by the commission is the first step to selling alcohol. A survey conducted by a local engineering firm was submitted to the commision and was sufficient enough proof that The Station is at least 1500 feet from a school or church. Next up, the state on January 29th.
