Drivers in Tennessee won’t have to worry about road construction interfering with their holiday travel starting on Tuesday night.
The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is stopping all lane closures and road construction during the coming days. It starts at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday until January 2.
Nearly 3 million Tennesseans are anticipated to travel on state and interstate highways between now and January 1, 2026, which is why the road shutdown has been suspended.
TDOT is reminding drivers to abide by all road construction signs and stated that workers may still be present in some construction zones.
