Cleveland Cavaliers starting forward Evan Mobley will miss the next two to four weeks due to a left calf strain.
Mobley suffered the injury during Friday’s 130-126 come-from-behind victory in Washington. He scored 23 points and added 13 rebounds, but reported tightness in the calf and was evaluated after game. An MRI on Saturday revealed the Grade 1 strain, the team said.
Mobley is averaging 19.1 points, a team-leading 9.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 25 games this season.
The 24-year-old is averaging 16.6 points and 9.0 rebounds over 294 games (all starts) since Cleveland selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The Cavs are also dealing with injuries to Sam Merrill (hand) and Max Strus (foot). Neither guard will play Sunday afternoon against the Charlotte Hornets.
