According to authorities, a Memphis Police Department sergeant was detained in Oakland for various offenses, including child endangerment and evading arrest.
Oakland Police are investigating MPD Sergeant Christopher Currie, who was arrested on Tuesday on charges of domestic abuse, evading arrest, child endangerment, resisting arrest, and a stop sign violation.
Police described the allegations as the result of a “domestic altercation with a female acquaintance.”
According to Memphis Police, Sergeant Currie has been relieved of his duties until further notice and an internal investigation has been launched into the incident.
