The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested a former home healthcare operator in Shelby County who was charged with theft of property and TennCare fraud.
Elexis Braswell was arrested on October 14 and charged with one count of theft of property and TennCare fraud valued between $2,500 and $10,000).
TBI reported that for notable period of time, Braswell overbilled the owner of Tender Loving Care, which is also known as Elizabeth Home Care, and billed TennCare for home healthcare-related services for patients undergoing treatment in surrounding hospitals.
Consequently, thousands of dollars that were meant to support the State of Tennessee were lost.
