On Monday, a woman who was charged by a DeSoto County grand jury with child sexual assault entered a guilty plea.
In December 2024, Lindsey Whiteside, a former youth minister and basketball coach at a Hernando, Mississippi’s Church, was charged with one count of minor sexual battery. In November 2024, she was taken into custody on a sexual battery charge.
She was sentenced to ten years of court supervision with no communication with the victim or her family by retired Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth. She will be under house arrest for the first three years.
The remaining seven years, she will be suspended on condition of house arrest, followed by five years of supervised probation and two years of unsupervised probation.
