An hours-long standoff in a neighborhood in Collierville ended peacefully.
Chief Dale Lane said at approximately 7:40 p.m., they were called in response to a report of three “vicious” pit bulls wandering the neighborhood.
The pit bulls belonged to the woman that surrendered According to Chief Lane, she was able to bring the dogs back inside the house, but they were soon back on the loose.
The woman slammed the door on authorities and claimed to be armed when they confronted her. After that, crisis negotiators and the SWAT squad were dispatched to intervene.
She ultimately surrendered after hours of negotiating with law enforcement officials.
