A city alderman from Hernando wants to honor Charlie Kirk by renaming a roadway.
Alderman Kit Kitchens announced that he would present a motion to rename a city street in Charlie Kirk’s honor at the Tuesday night Hernando Board of Aldermen meeting.
“Charlie Kirk was a one-of-a-kind individual who loved the Lord, stood firm in his beliefs, and showed us how to debate with conviction, respect, and peace,” said Kitchens. “By dedicating a street in his name, we can ensure that future generations in Hernando are reminded of the importance of faith, courage, and open dialogue in the public square.”
Hernando would be among the first communities in the country to permanently commemorate Charlie Kirk’s life and legacy if it were approved.
Kirk was assassinated last week while speaking at a Utah College. Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah, was arrested and charged in the shooting.
