Following Monday’s 901 Day celebrations, a 17-year-old was hurt in a shooting on Beale Street, which resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old and his mother.
The teenager has been charged of attempted second-degree murder, Memphis Police said Thursday. The Multi-Agency Gang Unit and Violent Crimes Unit arrested him on Wednesday.
49-year-old Suntria Stackins, his mother, is also charged with accessory after the fact. No bond has been set for her.
According to the victim, it began when he saw a fight break out close to the intersection of November 6th and Beale Street. He said he heard gunshots and was struck several times as he was fleeing the scene of the incident.
