Delainer Richmond, an alderwoman from Byhalia, Mississippi, was released from custody on Monday afternoon.
She was charged with connection to a burglary and was jailed for more than two months.
Richmond is charged with conspiring to steal over $25,000 worth of goods from a house with the help of another woman and the town’s former mayor.
Shortly before the most recent arrest, she was reelected as an alderwoman and sworn in for her new term while incarcerated.
The remainder of her term will now be served in person.
