According to health officials on Monday, Shelby County reported a second human case of the West Nile virus of 2025 last week.
The first case was reported in March by the Shelby County Health Department (SCHD), which stated that travel was a contributing factor. Regarding the second instance, no additional information was disclosed by health officials.
All that is official is that Infected mosquitoes are the transmitters of the virus.
The West Nile virus can result in severe sickness, hospitalization, or even death. But the majority of cases are symptomless and undiagnosed.
