Attorney, civil rights activist, and former Shelby County commissioner Julian Bolton passed away on Monday at the age of 75.
Bolton served for 24 years, making him the longest-serving county commissioner ever.
Bolton returned to Memphis in 1967 to attend Rhodes College after growing up in the Klondike neighborhood. He joined Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in marches and was involved in the civil rights movement.
He is survived by his wife, their three children, and grandchildren.
