After three disappointing seasons, the Memphis Showboats could be leaving Memphis….again.
The United Football League is reportedly finding new homes for the Birmingham Stallions, Houston Roughnecks, and Michigan Panthers in addition to transferring the Showboats from Memphis. These teams will be moving to Boise, Idaho, Columbus, Ohio, Florida, and Kentucky.
The Showboats have gone 9-21 since they resumed play in 2023, including consecutive seasons of 2-8 records with four coaches throughout that time.
In 1984 and 1985, when the Showboats played in the original USFL, Memphis was their home.
