On Wednesday morning, the search at Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park resumed after three men were reported missing on the Mississippi River north of Memphis on Tuesday evening.
The men were swimming and fishing on a sandbar south of the boat ramp at the park in northwest Shelby County
The Shelby County Fire Department said on social media that the three missing men are Hispanic and in their 20s to 50s. They believe them to be south of the boat ramp.
They were reported missing last night at approximately 7:15 p.m. Within forty-five minutes, according to the fire department, search boats were in the water.
The search crew included Shelby County Sheriff’s Department Search and Rescue, Homeland Security, Shelby County Fire, Millington Fire, Tipton County Fire, Memphis Police Harbor Patrol and Aviation, and TN State Parks.
