According to Memphis Police, shots were fired at Tom Lee Park late Monday night, resulting in the arrest of two men and the citation of another.
Officers said they responded to a report of gunfire at Tom Lee Park around 10:30 p.m. It was reported that a man wearing green shorts and no shirt was shooting at people inside the park.
According to police, multiple witnesses informed them that the man was shooting at people close to the basketball court when they arrived. Officers claim to have heard two shots fired inside the park at that point.
At that time, Treyvoughn Wilkins, Alexus McKinney, and the man who was allegedly responsible for the shooting—later identified as Namon Johnson—were taken into custody.
