To combine its Obstetric Labor and Delivery services, Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is cutting staff, the hospital announced in a statement.
Approximately 161 associates, or 1% of Methodist’s employment, will be impacted. Severance pay and transition support will be provided to individuals impacted who are unable to find new positions within their system, according to the hospital.

The Labor and Deliver services offered at Methodist South, Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown, and Methodist Olive Branch Hospitals will be combined as of August 1.
According to them, they made the decision to cut back on staff and stop providing deteriorating services, and the adjustments “align with their goal of maintaining long-term strength and high-quality services.”
