NATIONAL | Film Based On 2010 West Memphis Police Shootings Set To Release Nationwide

On Friday, a film that is based on the 2010 ambush killings of two West Memphis Arkansas police officers will be released in theaters around the country.

A father and son who identified as sovereign citizens—a group of anti-government extremists—find themselves in a standoff with a police chief who initiates a manhunt after they shot two police officers during a traffic stop.

The West Memphis Police shootings served as the basis for the crime thriller.

“Sovereign,” stars Dennis Quaid, Nick Offerman, and Jacob Tremblay and will be showing at Malco Cordova Cinema.
